With spring in full swing and summer just around the corner, pet owners undoubtedly want to bring Fido everywhere they go. In addition to the abundance of beautiful parks to bring your dog to, there are also tons of activities and events throughout the year that cater to your four-legged friends. In fact, Maryland is one of the most pet-friendly states in the nation, which is good news for you! These days, there are tons of fabulous restaurants throughout the state that allow pups on the patio, check out the list here and plan your next day trip accordingly!
Beyond the many restaurants, dog parks, and seashores that are dog-friendly, there are numerous family and pet-friendly events that will allow you to get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather with your best friend by your side. Whether you are looking for a way to treat your dog or hang out with fellow dog owners, you are sure to find something right up your alley. Wine & Wag Happy Hours
Sponsored by the Maryland SPCA, this great event takes place on various dates throughout the summer and is a fabulous combination of fun and games for your pup, live music, local food and beer and wine, of course.
All Wine & Wag events feature off-leash play for your pups, bobbing for hot dogs, paw painting, and more. Local bands will serenade you while you sip your beverage and watch your dog frolic about. What could be better than that? Find out more about admission price and upcoming dates here.
Puppypalooza
Another Maryland SPCA event, mark your calendars for June 18th if you are thinking about adding another furry family member. From noon to 4pm at Brightview Rolling Hills, you can stop by to adopt a dog or simply help raise funds that will go towards improving the lives of Maryland’s rescued and abandoned animals.
Walk for the Animals
The 25th annual Walk for the Animals event will take place on Sunday, June 19th (Father’s Day) and is a fantastic opportunity to get out with your dog and raise money for the SPCA. The ‘Tails and Trails 5k’ will take you through the beautiful Quiet Waters Park and is a great event for animal lovers and pets alike.
DogFest Walk-A-Thon 2016
The Baltimore Humane Society will play host once again to this September event that aims to raise funds for the organization. This pet-friendly event is great for the whole family, as it means along a 1-mile trail walk through the area’s beautiful 365-acre wildlife sanctuary.
