Dr. Stemley grew up in N.J. and has worked in the veterinary field since she was 16-first as a kennel assistant, then as a receptionist, technician, then a doctor. She attended Veterinary School at Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed a challenging but fun internship at the prestigious Friendship Hospital for Animals in D.C. After returning to NJ to work for many years, she traveled back to the area after marriage and now calls Maryland home. Dr. Stemley has a large menagerie of cats and dogs, chickens, a horse, and a pony. She also has 2 wonderful children and spends a lot of time attending various high school events, watching her favorite college or professional football teams, gardening, or traveling to visit family and friends. She enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine, especially internal medicine, long term wellness care, geriatric medicine, and emergency medicine.
